The Féral, a lecture by Fabien Giraud and Ida Soulard

Fabien Giraud He lives and works in Cheissoux and Paris. Rooted in documentary practices, his work—which combines sculpture, film, and performance—explores the possibility of radically different worlds and strives to experience their reality. Between 2014 and 2022, he collaborated with the artist Raphaël Siboni. The Unmanned, a vast historical epic in multiple forms, unfolding in several episodes and seasons, retracing in reverse an alternative history of humanity.

In 2026, he initiated with the exhibition curator Anne Stenne The Féral, a collective work rooted in the Limousin region and conceived over a long period of time. His work has been presented notably at MONA (Australia), the Liverpool Biennial, the Lyon Biennial, the Okayama Triennial, the Palais de Tokyo and the Casino Luxembourg.

Ida Soulard She lives and works in Cheissoux and Paris. She holds a doctorate in art history (ENS / Université PSL), is an independent curator and currently teaches at ENSA Bourges.

From 2013 to 2020, she was the artistic director of Fieldwork Marfa, an international research and residency program conducted jointly by the Nantes School of Fine Arts and HEAD-Geneva, and, in 2021, director and artistic consultant for the design of a private foundation and an artistic program in Armenia. She co-curated, with Jennifer Burris, Marfa Sounding (2016-2018), a festival of performances, sound installations, and conversations in Marfa, Texas. She has more recently curated exhibitions Transmeare in collaboration with Ulla von Brandenburg at FRAC Amiens and A young girl, a machine, and their friendship at Image/Imatge, Orthez (2022).

In 2022, she published Anni Albers. Concrete Abstractions (Les presses du réel) and published Weaving (Les Presses du Réel, 2021), French edition of Anni Albers's iconic 1965 book, and Manual for a Future Desert (Mousse Publishing, 2022).

In 2026, she joined the team The Féral as director of the Institute.
