Alexandre Ferrani

Focusing primarily on models and video, Alexandre's work questions the images and settings he encounters. In a form of gleaning, he draws his images from reality, the media, collective imaginations, and popular culture such as video games. Alexandre is interested in the territories he explores, whether urban, peri-urban, or rural, and is concerned with the ecological questions that permeate these spaces. His work examines contemporary political events and questions the images produced by these news items.
He recreates on a reduced scale the moments that may have marked him personally or, more generally, that had an impact on the French political landscape. He freely explores practices related to the model, passing through reconstruction, strategic modeling, architectural modeling and "Wargame" tabletop games. By playing with the confusion produced by the model, he questions both a relationship to history and its writing.
