Her artistic practice is part of a technical and reflective exploration of oil painting. By reinterpreting images from art history, she seeks to question the contemporary gaze, while reactivating the ancient gestures and skills that shaped their appearance. She also questions the notions of figuration and abstraction through monochrome. In this approach, monochrome is not an absence of image, but a territory of tensions, latent forms, a way of evoking figuration through the density of the material and the modulations of the gesture. Her work is based on a search for traditional painting recipes, notably through the study of the methods of Nicolas Wacker and Abraham Pincas. This attention paid to the materiality of painting allows us to consider the pictorial process as an act in itself where the technique becomes a way of making presence, a tangible presence, which invites us to feel, to perceive, to live painting as a sensory experience, through the gaze but also through the body of the viewer.
