Christopher Langlet Cherquitte explores the shifting boundaries between intimacy and memory, in a quest for emotional universality. Through sculpture and installation, he questions how personal experiences, particularly trauma, can be transformed into shared languages, capable of resonating far beyond their singular origins.
His approach is rooted in the creation of what he calls "memory objects," artifacts that bear witness to lived experience. These forms, both fragile and powerful, become vectors of an inner dialogue, revealing the tension between the visible and the invisible, between what is silenced and what emerges. Each piece is intended to be a catalyst for emotions, inviting introspection where the individual past opens up to collective readings.
By giving his works a symbolic autonomy, Christopher allows each person to project their own memory, their own resonances. Thus, a language of universal intimacy is woven, carried by matter, form, and silence.
