Passionate about digital fabrication and admiring the richness and diversity of artisanal practices rooted in our territories, Fabio aspires to embrace this cultural heritage while highlighting the potential of a fertile dialogue between artisanal practices and digital tools. Fascinated by the impact our choices of production methods can have, he is closely interested in the logic generated by digital tools and the traces they leave on his creations, when these are drawn, thought out and designed in this virtual environment. For him, each software has its own personality and its unique way of generating forms. This observation pushes him to question the formal vocabulary he manipulates through digital tools such as 3D software, and how these forms become tangible in the real world. Beyond questioning the designer's dependence on digital tools, Fabio seeks to reveal the benefits of the meeting of digital tools and artisanal manufacturing methods. On the one hand, by exploring 3D ceramic printing, a process that he puts into dialogue with other skills in the ceramics industry, but also by playing with archetypal forms derived from digital technology, sometimes disconnected from tangible reality, to design modular and reusable molds. The contrast between the mathematical rigor of CAD software and the malleability of materials such as glass or ceramic intrigues him. By exploring the nuances of this dialogue, Fabio seeks to demonstrate that digital craftsmanship can also give rise to forms imbued with warmth and expressiveness.
