Jeanne Viéban develops a practice of sculpture, drawing, and writing based on the poetic displacement of everyday objects. Borrowed, found, gleaned, sometimes repaired, the objects she assembles retain their integrity, without any irreversible gesture. This choice of reversible bricolage, as theorized by Fanny Lederlin, requires particular attention to things, their materiality, their memory of use, and their capacity to tell a story differently.
His pieces and texts often play with discreet humor and are part of a form of ecology of the gaze. The diversion of a hubcap into a fan blade, or a toothpick into a science-fiction weapon, activates mental shifts where everyday objects become temporary sculptures, opening a careful relationship with our surroundings. It is not a question of erecting monuments, but of proposing sensitive situations, temporary encounters with improvised forms and pictorial texts on the border between reality and fiction.
