Leticia de Souza Bueno

Throughout her artistic career, Letícia has explored diverse forms of expression such as video editing, performance, printmaking, photography, as well as the creation of children's books and book-like objects. Although painting, sculpture, and particularly collage have marked her work, it is in ceramics that she has found the ideal medium for merging these techniques. Letícia has conducted extensive research on ceramic glazes and different firing techniques.
His artistic approach focuses on the island as a concept, an idea that allows him to navigate between reason and elements such as the subconscious and unconscious. This reflection is realized through an exploration of the image of the island: its language, its vocabulary, and the sensations it evokes.
Seeking harmony between diverse possibilities, Letícia uses materials such as industrial iron, creating a visual journey and a sense of balance. Porcelain and ceramics, both glazed and unglazed, as well as paper, with its materiality, are also present in her creations.
Inspired by concrete poetry, where the word is simultaneously object, sign, and image, Letícia incorporates this philosophy into her sculptures. She seeks to spark new reflections and projections from this intersection, passionately exploring the potential of the imagination on the landscape. Her ability to give birth to unique forms and language while pushing the boundaries of contemporary artistic expression is at the heart of her work.
