Holder of a DNA art option in ceramics, with a mention for generosity, obtained in 2022 at Ensad Limoges
Lou Lolita is a sculptor specializing in ceramics, who creates installations imbued with landscapes. Her work questions the relationship that Man has with the living. These questions have given rise to installations of sculptures with strange organic forms, imbued with cavernous and mineral aesthetics. Her sculptural intentions focus on the capacity of materials to move and their ability to recreate formal languages, ranging from primitive telluric forces to post-apocalyptic aesthetics. The sculptures that make up her installations are modeled using processes of agglutination of materials added one on top of the other. She attempts through several modelings to recapture the sculptural energy of erosion, its movement. Her installations attempt to combine sculptures and modules, in order to create dreamlike landscapes in which we can wander and observe more closely the details of enamels and resinous growths.
Lou Lolita is interested in installation and sculpture through the prism of several contrasting notions, such as the organic and the synthetic, the natural and the artificial. It was during her 4th year at Ensad Limoges that she became familiar with artificial intelligence, and began to use it in her creative process, going back and forth between the material and the virtual, the modeling of the earth, physical and instinctive, and dematerialization through image modification by AI. She photographs her installations and modifies them with software, in order to mix architecture with sculptures, and create fictitious landscapes.
