Born on a farm in Limousin, Lucile's childhood was shaped by the changing agricultural seasons, alongside the challenges of the rural world. Her combined approach to the worlds of culture and agriculture has led her to develop a complex perspective on her relationships with the living world. On the cusp of handing over the family farm to new hands, Lucile seeks to understand how this pivotal moment also proves to be the moment of the passing on of the stories that populate the landscape.
The difficulty of agricultural recovery for young farmers with new land consolidations for the benefit of large investors is a social issue that runs through her plastic work. Through installations, she strives to use mainly materials from her rural territory such as wool, wood, hemp and linen. It is through the transversality of these materials having already experienced cycles of transformation that she tends to be part of a dynamic of movement and long temporality. There is a close link between textiles and memory. Throughout her work, she has become interested in the challenges that textiles could offer as a tool for transmitting memory. Also through writing and poetry, Lucile seeks to recount the ambiguity of attachment to the land, the intimate relationships that play out in the fragile universe of a peasant world in full transformation.
