Pauline Tomaszewski

Holder of a DNSEP art option with mention for the quality of research, obtained in 2024 at Ensad Limoges

Pauline creates forms at the same time as she samples and collects through fieldwork, encounters, and various archival collections. She brings back traditions that are sometimes forgotten, even lost, highlighting the layers of cultural histories embedded in materials and forms, enriching her understanding of work, craftsmanship, and industry. She explores the connections between the ceramic object, the landscape, and the minerals that compose it. At the intersection of collecting, geology, and archaeology, she explores the narratives surrounding raw materials and their relationships with the land.
Pauline explores the region's ancient kaolin deposits and continues research into the representations associated with Limoges porcelain, which has become, for her, an element of local folklore.
