International
A pedagogy open to Europe and the world as part of the Erasmus+ program but also thanks to educational trips, promotes the mobility of students and teachers.
Ensad Limoges has set up numerous international exchanges with academic and industrial partners in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. Like the porcelain trade, which has been part of a dynamic of exchanges between Europe and Asia since the 15th century, and in keeping with its historical vocation as a school of applied arts for the porcelain industry, Ensad is developing a major focus on contemporary ceramics. The school's teaching is also internationally oriented as part of the Erasmus program, but also through educational trips that promote the mobility of students and teachers. Germany, Colombia, Spain, Finland, Japan (Kyoto Seika University), Morocco (Specialized Institute of Traditional Arts - ISAT Meknes), Portugal, etc. are all destinations that open up the discovery of knowledge and practices that complement the teaching provided by Ensad. International mobility takes place either within the framework of compulsory internships with professionals or artistic and cultural structures, or in the form of a full semester of study within a partner establishment.
Erasmus program
The Erasmus+ program allows a student to benefit from a study grant for mobility recognized by their home establishment. The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region also supports students for study and internship mobility in Europe and outside Europe by providing financial aid.
Jingdezhen Research and Creation Studio
Since 2011, Ensad has had a workshop located within Jingdezhen Ceramic University (JCU). JCU is China's leading university institution for training in porcelain-related professions (art, design, engineering, management). It houses three national laboratories for technical and material research in the field of ceramics. The production of ceramic projects, in conjunction with seminars led by visiting artists and professors (French, Chinese, or international), is developed in collaboration with the professional networks (craft, artistic, and industrial) established on-site.
Between 2012 and 2020, each year, five young artists from the Kaolin postgraduate program at Ensad Limoges spent three months working at the Jingdezhen Contemporary Art Centre (JCU). In 2024, two Chinese students spent a semester in Limoges, and two Ensad students will go to Jingdezhen for a semester in 2025.
